Jon Bachtold – President

Jon brings extensive telecommunications and technological experience to Advanced Communications. As a Communications Systems Officer for the United States Air Force in the late 1980’s and 1990’s, Jon was a leader through the Desert Storm/Shield deployment, implementation and re-deployment.

With Advanced Communications, Jon created a Data Systems Solutions business from the ground up – providing network server, hardware, operating system, and telephone system implementation. He expanded the business into dialup and wireless high speed internet with over 3000 dialup and 600 high speed business customers.

Some of Jon’s industry experience includes:

 Designed and implemented systems to assess, monitor, record and report network security processes for small to medium banks and health related industries
 Ensured GLBA and HIPAA Compliance
 Designed and directed data quality assessment of global military transportation asset tracking system for highly sensitive secure military networks.
 Created Web/Email System to automatically notify over 100 agencies of system policy changes
 Wrote MS Office based Web Browser tool that scanned web pages and stripped off critical information, and then analyzed for quality
 Handpicked for team of nationally acclaimed Deployed Distribution Operation Center for United States Transportation Command
 Consulted on information security to medium Wireless and Wired Internet Security Providers and Independent Telephone Companies.
 Familiar with industry software capabilities for Network Vulnerability Assessment and Intrusion Detection

Roger C. Bachtold – Inside Sales Manager

Roger, Sr. has been in the business world for over 40 years. After serving in the Air Force in light ground radio maintenance in 1961 – 1965, he went into cabinet-making business with his brother for almost 10 years. Upon moving to Mississippi and getting married, he owned and operated an auto parts business until moving back to Illinois.

Roger started the Fairbury Auto Parts in 1977. From that business, many other businesses have grown – including Fairbury Radio Shack, Pontiac Radio Shack, and Advanced Communications. Roger’s management and people skills are invaluable to Advanced Communications.
Roger, Sr.’s other responsibilities include customer support manager, project management, and controller for the Advanced Communications.

Roger H Bachtold – Contract Support Manager

Roger, Jr. brings many years of computer technology experience to Advanced Communications. A Microsoft Certified Professional, his specialty is network security and network management. An entrepreneur, Roger opened three retail electronics locations, receiving the National Electronics Association Retail Outlet of the Year Award for the Midwest Region.

Roger has also designed and maintained a 14 city/2county ISP in Kansas and Illinois. Having seven years of back-office experience designing and maintaining nationwide VOIP and data networks, Roger, Jr. is responsible for serving as a technical expert for over 50 separate networks.

Prior to his entrepreneurial efforts, Roger received a degree in Aircraft and Plant Aviation Technician from Spartan School of Aeronautics.

Jason Rambeck - Systems Administrator

Jason brings years of network and wireless technology experience to Advanced Communications. He has experience in network administration, network security, wireless technology, mail server administration, web technologies (Apache, MySQL, Linux) and also Unix administration.

Jason’s current responsibilities at Advanced Communications include technical and systems administrator for the company’s wireless ISP, Maxwire. He is responsible for general network monitoring, and performs troubleshooting, designing, and implementing wireless point to multi-point systems.

Jason’s responsibilities also include network vulnerability testing using NMap, Nessus, Nikto, and other security tools, plus diagnosis of end-user issues via the telephone. His experience extends into website development and technologies, administering web-servers and email administration.

Prior to joining Advanced Communications, Jason was a missionary in Namibia, Africa starting and leading a mission base through a mission organization.
